Kobeshi's music...

Had an old account on here before but something's gone wrong with that, so here's me again after a years leave of absence working in the ski industry.

I'll keep this short and sweet - Im 19, from the UK but never really lived there; am in Japan at the minute. I play guitar, drums, and play around in FL studio. I'll listen to most any kind of music, but prefer to compose chilled out stuff generally.

Burnout

Just moved back to the UK so a few projects have had to go on hold while I wait for my recording equipment to come through.
Buuut, found this old FL project while moving some stuff around between hard drives today. Was originally designed as a soundtrack to a movie scene, but that never got made.
And yes I know, the first two drum loops are built-in ones from fruity loops :P

Enjoy.

Colombian Rose

So this song is a bit of a rush job - as in I need to try and get it finished off this week. Any feedback would be appreciated (less on teh recording end of things, but more on the song itself). Lyrics are currently being written for it, and Im aware that there are a few places where there are mistakes. Listen to it once through before reading the next bit (if you have that good self discipline) and decide whether you agree with what I think needs doing afterwards:

MY IDEAS:
Maybe too crowded with the lead guitar AND finger picked section in the chorus - instead drop finger picked section in chorus maybe? Alternativley change levels a bit?
Strumming pattern could be changed possibly?
To add drums or not, that is the question.
To add background instruments through FL (quiet strings, etc...) or not?

Colombian Rose VII

Ok so Ive rearranged some of the instruments and re-mixed this to try and make it sound less crowded than the original. Just finishing off the lyrics at the minute, so if anyone is interested in recording them let me know, as I cannot sing for the life of me.

Dreaming Underground

So basically I set out one day a few months ago, to try and create an piece of electronica with a few string elements to it. Little did I know where it would take me.

This project is essentially a giant experiment now going through a whole variety of stages - from electronica to solo-piano to epic-orchestra to some hybrid of all of this. Kept picking it up and putting it down and each time I did this, the song took a turn to reflect the mood I was in at that particular time.

Now the project has just become so large in FL studio that my little laptop processor cant handle it anymore, so its turned into a "Render - listen - find where changes are needed - guesswork the changes in - render - repeat" so I figured why not lob it up on here, get all the suggestions possible on changes needed, then give it one final day of work.

Warning - it is nearly 7 minutes long, and VERY bassy. Dont listen to it through anything that doesnt have any ability to produce bass, or it will really sound terrible. Ive tried haha. Also - apologies for not having been around the past month - just started uni and have been a weeee bit busy to say the least.

Heartbeat Symphony

Felt like having a proper go at making a dance track a few months ago instead of my usual chilled stuff, and this is the result - not the most comlex tune in the world but got a bit of punch to it if you play it through big, bassy enough speakers.
Designed really to have lyrics over the top, but have never written any (or had anyone to sing said lyrics, had they been written in the first place). About 5 minutes long all told, going through a few different stages.
Hopefully you can tell where the name comes from by listening to it...enjoy!

Time Creeps By

This one was written while I was working in switzerland over the winter one sunday. Sundays were typically spent tired out, in bed in the hotel we all stayed in, often hungover, resting in a semi-concious state, but blissfully happy somehow as time kept creeping on by...
